2023 - 2024 Goals

In the coming year, we have six main areas where we aim to focus our educational  equity efforts. Over the next year, we will…

  • continue revisions to Teaching as a Graduate Student to bring more explicit attention to equitable and inclusive teaching in all aspects of the programming and materials.

  • revise the Curriculum (Re)Design program, including revisions to the role equity plays in our interactions with participating units and in their curricular decisions. 

  • continue to co-design and co-facilitate the Ignite program with a Faculty Fellow having DEI expertise.

  • integrate teaching and learning data, particularly around student performance disaggregated by socio-demographics, into CTE programs and organizational development work.

  • engage with departments and units across grounds to transform undergraduate STEM experiences as part of UVA’s Howard Hughes Medical Institute Driving Change and Inclusive Excellence 3 initiatives

  • develop a process for reviewing educational technology accessibility and create transparency about accessibility of the current learning technology available, including barriers and solutions to those barriers.
