Teaching for Student Success: Applications to Practice

As part of our CTE Speaker Series, this interactive workshop with Dr. Tracie Addy will support participants in reflecting on what it means to teach for student success in their own contexts. Findings and instruments used in our research and educational development efforts will be used by participants to refine and better understand their teaching practices. 

Dr. Addy will also be offering the seminar Teaching for Student Success: Lessons Learned from Research earlier in the day.

Tracie Marcella Addy, PhD, MPhil is an accomplished academic leader in higher education. She received her BS from Duke University, MPhil from Yale University, and PhD from North Carolina State University. She is a published scholar of teaching and learning and educational development. Her two main scholarly areas of focus include learner-centered teaching practices and the work of centers for teaching and learning. 

She is the lead author of the books What Inclusive Instructors Do: Principles and Practices for Excellence in College Teaching (2021) and Enhancing Inclusive Instruction: Student Perspectives and Practical Approaches for Advancing Equity in Higher Education (2024). Her next book for which she is a co-author is tentatively titled Educational Development in the Age of Change and is anticipated to be released in 2026 by Johns Hopkins University Press.
