2026 Future Faculty Series: Reflective Teaching Statements

This session on reflective teaching statements is the third workshop of the 2026 Future Faculty Series, and will be facilitated by Adriana Streifer from UVA's Center for Teaching Excellence.

The Future Faculty Series is designed for PhD candidates and postdocs in advanced years of training who are interested in faculty careers. The content of this series consists of workshops, panel discussions, and asynchronous videos to help you learn about life as a faculty member, how to strategize your research agenda, what hiring committees are looking for, starting to craft your application materials, and more. The series culminates with feedback sessions where participants get personalized and constructive feedback on their materials.

The series begins over the summer with the goal of helping participants draft and receive feedback on their application materials before the announcement of faculty positions begins. Participants who are planning to apply for faculty positions during the 2026-2027 academic year are strongly encouraged to participate in as many sessions as possible.
