Kevin Shaw

Kevin Shaw joined the Center for Teaching Excellence in August 2025. As a CTE intern, his work focuses on supporting the CTE team to explore new programs, create user-friendly technology guides, leverage tools in Canvas to make courses more user-friendly, and complete a variety of tasks to further support UVA's digital ecosystem.

Kevin was born and raised in Chesterfield, Virginia. Upon graduating with a bachelor's degree in History from the University of Richmond, Kevin served as a social studies teacher at an alternative high school. Kevin has served as a mentor for the Modern Classrooms Project, an organization that promotes self-paced learning opportunities by leveraging technology. Today, Kevin also serves as an ITRT at Fauquier County Public Schools in addition to his role at the CTE.
