Workshop
Know Your Audience: Student Experiences Learning Online
Discover strategies and tools for designing engaging, interactive, and accessible online learning materials that enhance student participation and comprehension. This session will explore best practices in multimedia integration, content organization, and learner-centered design. Participants will gain hands-on experience with digital tools and platforms that support dynamic content creation, including video, interactive modules, and adaptive learning technologies. Ideal for instructors looking to elevate their online teaching presence and improve student outcomes.
The Plot Twists and Perspectives: Designing Online Learning That Resonates series concludes with a panel of students reflecting on their experiences with online education. We’ll hear firsthand from students about the roles of generative AI in their learning, the kinds of online learning materials that engage them, course and assignment structures that motivate deep learning, and more.
Online instructors at UVA are invited to attend the panel and develop a richer understanding of student perspectives on online education.
This workshop is co-sponsored by the CTE and the Office of Online Education and Digital Innovation.
