Intentional Canvas Course Design for Online Learning

This virtual lunch and learn is intended for faculty teaching online who are interested in strengthening their Canvas course design. Participants will explore examples of well-designed Canvas courses from UVA faculty from multiple schools, highlighting practical approaches to transparency, belonging, and accessibility. The session will also introduce a ready-to-use Canvas course template that incorporates core design principles and can be easily adapted for individual courses. Rather than a technical walkthrough, this session will focus on pedagogical choices, design strategies, and ideas faculty can apply immediately to support effective and inclusive online teaching.
