Claire Reeger joined the Center for Teaching Excellence January 2018. She earned her BA in sociology from Bridgewater College with a minor in cultural studies. Her studies included various topics, including gender, sociology theory, photography, and a qualitative research project about romantic relationships among college students. Claire also completed a graduate certificate in Public Administration at UVA’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies.
Before joining CTE, Claire worked as an administrative assistant for the Mellon Fellowship of Scholars in Critical Bibliography at Rare Book School, located in Alderman Library at UVA. She learned about building a collaborative community among scholars who usually see themselves as competitors, how to plan a large, academic conference, and much more about rare books and objects.
At CTE, Claire manages various aspects of program administration, including program application processes.
Claire is originally from Shelocta, Pennsylvania and grew up on her family’s vegetable farm. She enjoys horseback riding, reading, gardening, and hiking with her husband and dog.
