FAQ
How will I track my activities?
Once you enroll in Teaching Forward, your activities will be tracked through the CTE website. Simply visit cte.virginia.edu and click Log In -> in the upper righthand corner. Once you log in using your Netbadge credentials, you will see your program activity in the MY ACTIVE ENGAGEMENTS section of your Activity report.
How will you verify that I complete program requirements?
The tracking system for Teaching Forward provides a visual representation of your progress. As you complete requirements, the system marks them off. As you finish each level, we will do a quick spot check to confirm you made a good faith attempt to complete the requirements.
What happens if I don't finish Levels 1 and 2 in the required two-year period?
With a little planning, completing levels 1 and 2 should not be particularly difficult to finish within two years. However, we will notify participants who have incomplete requirements at the two-year mark and offer a brief grace period. If the requirements remain incomplete after the grace period, the participant will have to start the program over if you want to receive recognition and progress to Level 3.
How do I enroll in level 2 and 3?
Once you complete the requirements for a level, we will automatically enroll you in the next level.
What happens if I don't complete Level 3 every year?
While we encourage you to engage in on-going professional development of your teaching, you may not always have time to complete Level 3 activities. Simply jump back in the next year. You do not have to complete Level 1 and 2 again.
How will my efforts to improve my teaching be acknowledged?
We will publicly celebrate participants in Teaching Forward each year. The activities you undertake may also be used as evidence of continuous improvement in your tenure, promotion, and annual review materials.
