Workshop

Teaching During Periods of Political Turmoil

Higher education has received a lot of public attention lately. Whether related to “divisive content,” DEI, student protests, or some other topic that is used to stoke controversy, faculty find themselves in a situation where they must wade through the murky waters of how best to respond to this heightened moment when doing their job. With a significant national election looming, this may become even more challenging. Teaching During Periods of Political Turmoil is a workshop that can help.

Please join us for this brown bag lunch discussion that will sort fact from fiction when thinking about the current politically charged moment and provide strategies and tools for managing a classroom and your personal political commitments when teaching.

This workshop will be facilitated by Ian Mullins, a CTE Faculty Fellow and Assistant Professor of Sociology.
