Staying Afloat in a Sea of Accommodations
This workshop supports instructors in navigating the increasing number and diversity of requests for student disability accommodations. It addresses legal frameworks, UVA resources for disability accommodations and access, and offers practical suggestions for proactively creating accommodations plans and working with students.
Lunch will be provided.
This session is led by Elizabeth Ellcessor, a CTE Faculty Fellow and Associate Professor of Media Studies. She has more than 15 years of research experience focused on digital accessibility and disability inclusion. She also has personal experience with the changing environment regarding course accommodations and the challenges they pose to individual instructors.
