Session

Reflective Teaching Statements

In this 90-minute session, you will learn how to write a reflective teaching statement (also known as a teaching philosophy statement). You will explore the various components of a teaching statement, evaluate sample statements from various disciplines, and be introduced to a rubric for evaluating teaching statements based on search committee expectations. You’ll also have a chance to reflect on your own teaching philosophy and practices, and consider how you wish to communicate these in writing.

This session is part of PhD Plus' 2023 Future Faculty Series, Level 2: Research, Teaching, and DEI.
