In this session, we will discuss the nuts and bolts of writing a reflective teaching statement for promotion and renewal reviews and job applications. You’ll explore the various components of a teaching statement, examine sample statements from a variety of disciplines, and learn to apply a basic rubric for evaluating teaching statements. You’ll also have a chance to reflect on your own teaching philosophy and practices, and consider how you wish to communicate these in writing.
