New Faculty Orientation and Welcome

Each August, the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost holds a two-day orientation for faculty who are new to UVA. This event is designed to welcome new faculty to UVA, build community, connect faculty to useful resources, provide practical, concrete information, and encourage a healthy work-life balance. In addition to meeting other new faculty, this is a good opportunity to meet current faculty and staff, find out about important resources, and start building your network at UVA.

On Monday, August 15 at 11 AM, the Center for Teaching Excellence will be leading a panel discussion with UVA faculty members, including:

• Dorothe Bach, Associate Director and Professor, Center for Teaching Excellence

• Rose Buckelew, Rose Buckelew, Assistant Professor of Sociology

• Andrew Pennock, Associate Professor of Public Policy

• Upsorn Praphamontripong, Assistant Professor of Computer Science
