Kristin Sloane joined the Center for Teaching Excellence in March 2019. She graduated with her B.A. in English Literature and Rhetoric from Binghamton University and obtained her M.A.M.C. in Journalism from the University of Florida. While pursuing her master’s degree, Kristin worked in academic support roles as a graduate adviser and a program assistant. In the former, she provided academic guidance to undergraduate communications students. As a program assistant, Kristin served as the point of contact for prospective students of a distance learning program.
After graduating, Kristin headed from the Sunshine State to snowy Syracuse to work in industry at a news station for three years. In addition to broadcast, she also has experience writing for online and print publications.
Kristin was excited to return to academia to handle marketing and communications for the CTE. She strives to enhance and elevate the Center's visibility across Grounds and beyond. Her goal is to improve communications through our website, email, social media, and other outlets to better serve all UVA instructors as well as the educational development community.
